BARNESVILLE, Ga. -- Gordon State College Softball swept the weekly honors in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA Region 17) as sophomore outfielder Makenzie English (Williamson, Ga. / Pike County HS) was named Player-of-the-Week and freshman pitcher Faith Hager (Conyers, Ga. / Heritage HS) was selected Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played February 3-9.
English had a .556 batting average with four hits, five runs and three RBI in four games this past week in the Visit Dothan (Ala.) Invitational. English had one triple out of her four hits and added a stolen base while recording three putouts from her left field position.
English is currently hitting .462 on the season with a .615 slugging percentage.
Hager was 1-1 in Dothan and picked up the 8-4 complete-game victory over No. 18 Wallace State Community College-Hanceville (Ala.).
Hager finished with 13.1 innings pitched with four earned runs, nine strikeouts, four walks and 4.72 earned-run average.
Hager currently has a 1-2 record with a 4.20 ERA while striking out 24 batters in 21.2 innings pitched.
