While the Highlanders continue their winning ways, a slow start for the Highlanders allowed the Fillies from Andrew Baldwin Agricultural College, ABAC, to grab a quick goal in the first two minutes of the game which ended the Highlanders' shutout streak. ABAC would not hold their lead for long as Skylar Bertram with an assist by Kaitlin O'Connor scored an equalizer less than three minutes later. The loss of their shut-out season seemed to incite the Highlanders into action as Isabelle Vazquez scored four minutes later with an assist by Jordan White. The lead was short lived as a foul was called on the Highlanders resulting in a PK netted by ABAC, which evened the score at 2-2.
The Highlanders pulled ahead five minutes later as White scored the third goal of the game assisted by Bertram, quickly followed with another Bertram goal with an assist by Demi Kiker. The game then belonged to the Highlanders the rest of the night. The first half ended with a score of 6-2 as Bertram assisted O'Connor's second goal of the game in the 35th minute as well as Michayla Barne's goal in the 38th minute.
The Lady Highlanders scored two goals early in the second half with Bertram's third goal assisted by Barnes in the fourth minute and White's second goal assisted by Halseth in the 14th minute of the half.
The Lady Highlanders travel to ABAC this Saturday, September 29th to play at 2:00 pm.
