Gordon State battled past Georgia Military College in a thrilling 2–1 victory, avenging their only early-season defeat and securing their second win in as many days.
The Highlanders showed grit and determination in a hard-fought 2–1 win over Georgia Military College on Thursday, extending their winning streak and taking revenge for their lone setback earlier in the season.
Gordon struck first when Georgia Fillingim finished off a brilliant pass from Cara Bishop to put the Highlanders ahead. Later in the half, Isabel Tressler calmly converted from the penalty spot to make it 2–0.
GMC pulled one back late in the match, but Gordon's defense held strong in the final minutes to secure the victory.
The result marks another resilient performance for the Highlanders, who improve to 7–1 on the season, earning their second win in two days.
Next up, the Highlanders will play an out-of-conference matchup against Calhoun Community College, marking their third game in three days — another test of depth and determination for the squad.
